Founder & Managing Director

Joël Tshibangu founded GreenAdvisory to work across the gap between African market opportunity, project readiness and institutional capital.

His professional background spans corporate banking, financial advisory and investment-related work across Kinshasa, Brussels and Johannesburg. His experience at Sofibanque includes commercial banking, client relationship management, credit preparation and commercial negotiations. Earlier roles covered financial-services advisory in Brussels and finance, investment and risk-management work in Johannesburg.

Experience

Joël’s work has covered commercial banking, client and institutional relationships, credit preparation and financial advisory. His experience spans the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Belgium and South Africa, providing exposure to both African market conditions and European financial environments.

At GreenAdvisory, he leads the firm’s strategy and advisory model, with a focus on connecting local opportunity, project development, financial structuring and institutional capital requirements.

Education & qualifications

Joël studied Business Finance and Insurance & Risk Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he also taught undergraduate Insurance & Risk Management. He completed summer programmes focused on big-data analytics and African economic development through the London School of Economics and partner institutions, and completed the CFA ESG Investing programme.
