Joël Tshibangu Tshimanga

Joël Tshibangu is the Founder and Managing Director of GreenAdvisory, an independent climate finance advisory firm that makes African projects bankable and connects them to capital. From Brussels, Kinshasa and Johannesburg, the firm advises project sponsors, governments and investors on project structuring, blended finance and carbon-market transactions.

He founded GreenAdvisory in 2025 on a simple conviction: capital for Africa’s transition is not absent; too little of it reaches projects. High-impact opportunities stall because the project preparation, risk allocation and institutional coordination needed to secure financing are missing.

Before founding the firm, he spent nearly three years at Sofibanque in Kinshasa, originating and managing corporate client relationships, executing transactions and monitoring the portfolio. His earlier experience spans finance and insurance roles in South Africa and Belgium. He holds two BCom Honours degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand, in Insurance and Risk Management and in Business Finance.
