Built to work where the transition meets the capital gap
GreenAdvisory is a strategic advisory firm focused on climate finance, ESG and economic transformation across African markets — operating at the intersection of investment logic, institutional strategy and development finance.
Our Founding Thesis
Africa is not underinvested because of lack of opportunity.
It is underinvested because most advisory, analytical and investment frameworks still apply risk models, discount rates and institutional assumptions calibrated for other geographies — and misread African transition markets as a result.
GreenAdvisory exists to change that — not through advocacy, but through rigorous, investment-grade advisory that helps capital flow to where it creates the most structural impact.
Our Approach
We operate at the intersection of three disciplines that are rarely combined in one advisory platform:
Finance
We think in terms of bankability, capital structure, risk allocation and long-term value creation. Our advisory is designed to withstand scrutiny from investment committees and DFI due diligence teams.
Institutions
We understand how development institutions, governments and public stakeholders make decisions. We have navigated African public-sector and institutional investment ecosystems directly, not from a distance.
Strategy
We take a long-term view. We are not transaction advisors chasing deal flow. We help clients build durable strategic positions in Africa’s transition economy.
Geographic Focus
Democratic Republic of Congo
Corporate incorporation, active institutional relationships, and deep familiarity with DRC’s economic, political and regulatory environment. The DRC sits at the center of global critical mineral supply chains essential to the energy transition — and remains dramatically underserved by serious climate finance advisory.
Belgium / Europe
Legal incorporation in Belgium, providing a European institutional anchor for engagement with EU-based DFIs, investors and regulatory frameworks including CSRD, the EU Taxonomy, and SFDR.
Broader Africa
Côte d’Ivoire and the broader francophone African market feature in our medium-term geographic strategy.
Leadership

Joël Tshibangu Tshimanga
Founder & Managing Director
Joël Tshibangu founded GreenAdvisory to address a gap he observed directly: the absence of rigorous, investment-grade strategic advisory specifically calibrated for Africa’s transition economy.
His background combines corporate banking experience — including institutional relationship management and corporate credit at Sofibanque — with deep engagement in climate finance, ESG frameworks and African institutional strategy. He brings a hybrid perspective that is rare in African advisory: fluency in both the investment logic of financial institutions and the institutional dynamics of African public-sector and development environments.
GreenAdvisory reflects a long-term conviction: that the advisors who will shape Africa’s economic transformation must be built differently — combining financial rigor, strategic depth and genuine on-the-ground understanding of African markets.
Joël operates between the DRC and Belgium.
